Just as Mijas village is serenity, tradition and culture, so Mijas Costa parallels that magic combination of sun, sand and water sports. Awarded the blue flag for being the best in the provence, Mijas Costa boasts a great safety record for its water sports: Parasailing, skiing and sailing are regular features on the water. The restaurants along the shore serve excellent Spanish food and many serve up Tinto de Verano – a mix of red wine and fizzy water.

The Sitio de Calahonda and Riviera del Sol are both major developments consdiered part of the Mijas area. Calahonda is very English with many pubs, karaoke, british doctors, imported foods in the shops etc.  The Riviera del Sol attracts many European folk into its large commercial centre with bars and grocery store and restaurants scattered around. Mijas Costa has lots of pretty coves and beaches, lovely Mijas Villas styled with Spanish influence to ensure the area stays picturesque.

Mijas Costa also boasts some of the coast’s more famous golf courses including La Cala Resort. Mijas’ neighbouring golf hotspot, it is the largest golf complex in Spain with 3 full courses: Campo América, Campo Asia and Campo Europa. This beautiful 1,000-acre complex is only a short distance from the Sierra de Mijas Natural Park, and includes property with apartments, homes, villas and a luxury hotel.

All of these considerations has ensured that Mijas attracts Europeans keen to find Spanish style with European amenities without the harsher climate of Northern Europe. The new hostpital is only 15 minutes away and of a hig standard and even newspapers can be found in the shops before 9am featuring French, German and English languages!

We have an abundance of good quality sports and recreation facilities both in and around La Cala de Mijas. The tennis club “Club del Sol” welcomes all comers as does the Lawn bowls centre at Miraflores. There are gymnasiums, dive centres and virtually every outdoor activity within minutes of the village with competition standard Golf Courses scattered all around the perimeter of Mijas.

The location of Mijas can be enjoyed throughout the year.  Renowned for being warm with shallow breezes Mijas’ climate is perfect for enjoying the indoor and outdoor lifestyle of living particularly in the open plan Mijas Villa styles. Travelling around is easy to do and the famous towns of Marbella, Torremolinos and Pureto Banus are nearby.  The kids have lots to do, we are minutes from Tivoli World, the Fuengirola Zoo, Sea Life and then of course the wonderful beaches and splash parks

Renting Mijas Villas is probably the best way to stay in Mijas Costa as it affords you the views, space and luxury base to enjoy the many delights this beautiful location on the Costa Del Sol has to offer.
